Advancing glass education in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
Studio C Glassworks is the inspiration of Robert Gardner who following years of apprenticeship and working experience at the Penland School of Crafts set up a glass studio in the heart of Ashevilles' River Arts District
in 1997. In 2007, Studio C also became the home of Alex Gabriel
Bernstein, whose experience teaching at the Cleveland Institute of Art
and the Wooster Center of Crafts preceeded him. Since its inception the
studio has primarily been a working artists studio but it is now moving
towards becoming the regions first public access school for glass. With
an initial offering of classes for the fall of 2007, the studio will
shift its focus from a private workplace to a public access educational
facility.
